*NOTE: The transistor BC214L is discontinued at both RS and
Maplin, but there is still some stock at the latter. Neither RS
or their supplier could give me an alternative. And I spent 2 minutes
on the manufacturer's site (STM) before I lost the will to live.
(My grasp of electronics is disturbingly poor, I'm sure there is
an obvious substitute....). WARNING: if you get the 'L' version,
the buggers switched the pins!! (No one told me :). They are, from
left to right, (looking at the flat face): E,C,B.
