30/8/01 LCDs & MP3 Jukebox

I've just got a couple of 20x4 LCDs from Crystalfontz.
Nice toys, superb suppliers. One of them (serial interface) is already in my computer showing system info (temps, internet data, fan speeds etc.). The second (parallel interface) is destined for the MP3 Jukebox I've cobbled together from an old P100.

Full details on both the LCDs and the jukebox when I get a chance, in the meantime here's a few pics of the serial LCD in action.

4/7/01 Requests to make Cobra Interfaces

I've had a few requests to make the interfaces for people. As much as I'd like to, I simply don't have the time. On top of this, whilst I am quite happy hacking together stuff for myself and providing advice to people, being paid to make stuff for people that must work perfectly and continue to work is another matter. Sorry.

In his site, however, Steve Prentice does say that if he has enough interest that he will consider making and selling the interfaces, so contact him if you are interested. Steve is the guy with the expertise, I am just a bodger :)

Welcome to clivebeale.com.

These pages are ostensibly to provide information and resources on my pet projects and interests. But it is, of course, an unashamed vanity site.

No different from the others. You know: pages displaying a picture of a gurning, mullet-headed father and his whitetrash sister-wife pawing at an unearthly, mewling sprog. Underneath, a tedious, chronological monologue details its every burp, barf and burble and makes its two short weeks of life seem geological.

Anyway, feel free to email me if you want more info on any of the stuff here.
